Francesco Parisi CV
Francesco Parisi was born in Rome in1972, studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and graduates in 1996.
In 1995 he has two personalexhibition in Paris (Galerie Guy and Galerie Danae) where he moved in 1997.
Returning to Italy in 1999 hedevoted himself to wood engraving. In 2002 he exhibited in a personalexhibition curated by Emanuele Bardazzi at the Print Cabinet of Museum ofModern and Contemporary Art in Cagliari. In the same year he obtains ascholarship for engraving at Kultur-Institute Villa Romana Florenz in Florence.In 2003 he exhibited in a personal exhibition at Gallery of Contemporary Art ofCiampino (Rome, curated by Carlo Fabrizio Carli. In 2004 he has two personalexhibitions in Munich (Hausbau Gallery) and in Rome at (Russo Gallery)presented by Fabio Benzi.
The following year the completecatalogue of his graphic work ispublished by Officine Vereia press curated by Arianna Mercanti and Maria TeresaBenedetti.
In 2005 Parisi has some one man showexhibitions at Conchiglia Gallery (Rome-Capri), the Aldo Manuzio Museum(Bassiano) and Villa Romana Florenz (Florence). In 2006, the artist moved toNew York where he taught wood engraving at the Center for the Book Arts andarranges an exhibition at the Caelum Gallery.
At the end of 2006 he presented hisdrawings at Studio Morbiducci Gallery (Rome) and in 2009 at the Russo GalleryRome) curated by Giuseppe Appella and Aleandri Gallery (Rome), curated byRobert Ansell.
In the same year EdizioniColophonarte published a letterpress illustrated book «The Secret Supper» with6 wood engraving by the artist
In 2010 Esti Imberman editidions(Tel Aviv) published another illustrated book "Mein blaues klavier"with poem by Else Lasker-Schüler and lithographs by the artist.
In 2008, a monographic number of thethe magazine "Colophon" was dedicated to the artist with a text byEgidio Fiorin ed a poem by Valentino Zeichen.
In 2012 the Museum Guido Calori(Terni) organizes a retrospective of his graphic work curated by RenzoMargonari. In 2013 and 2014 he exhibited in London at the Store Street Galleryand the Cob Gallery curated by Robert Ansell. In 2014 also participates at theLondon Print Fair with Brook Gallery.
In 2015 Stefano Papetti curated anexhibition of the artist at Adolfo De Carolis Museum at Montefiore all’Aso(Ascoli Piceno) and at the Museum of Modern Art of Anticoli Corrado (Rome).
In 2017 the National Print Cabinetof Rome exhibited his graphic work and some of his prints have been purchasedby the Vatican Museum.
His prints are also in thecollections of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, département des estampeset de la photographie, Paris; at the Royal Museum of Fine Art, Antwerp; and atthe British Museum, Departments of prints and drawings, London.
As arthistorian Parisi has published several scholarly articles and essays and hascurated exhibitions focused on european symbolism.
