“银川对话”中国·英国版画联展序言

Exhibition of Contemporary Printmaking 2017
宁夏是中国的一个边远的省份，距离“改革开放”初期的沿海重点开拓、发展的地区有些远。地域的优势和政策的优势虽然没占先，虽然没有较早的收获发展的成果，却也没有过早的承受因发展带来的弊端。毕竟迎来了“西部大开发”，宁夏在加倍努力。
NingXia as a remote province of China is far from the main coastal area which developed in the early years for “Reform and Opening-up”. So It doesn’t reap the harvest from the early development because of lacking the regional superiority and policy advantage, but also hasn’t take disadvantages in that time. But now, the time of “China Western Development” is coming, NingXia is redoubling.
中国的领导者比较早地认识到，只图经济的发展而无文化的跟进，这样的经济发展是有缺欠的，因为事实证明，没有文化和精神境界的提升，就会发生对经济发展的制约。现在，整个国家都在重视文化的建设，哪怕是很偏僻的还需要国家扶助的农村，在渐渐改变贫困状况的同时，又开始了“精神扶贫”，让每一个普通的农民明白，真正贫穷的原因是什么？
Early years in China, the leaders realized it’s unwise to merely develop the national economy without culture following up. Because the history prove that culture is the one of constraints in developing economy. Nowadays our state values the construction of culture even in some state-supported impoverished counties. With the situation of poverty has changing gradually, nation also started “Spiritual Assistance” in order to make each citizen clear the main reason of poverty.
在宁夏，政府在制定开发计划的同时，也把文化建设计划纳入到长远发展的思考之中。去年，在这里举办了《银川对话——中美版画名家作品邀请展》，这就是宁夏人的动作。政府有见地的选择了艺术，就如同在干旱的土地上开掘水渠，而版画就是挖下去的第一铲。今次，又举办《中英版画联展》，就是在继续着这个“开掘”。文化艺术之“水”一定会滋润这块土地，滋润我们版画家的心田。
Now in Ningxia, as the time of making development program, the government also bring the plan of constructing culture into line with the long-term consideration. They chose the art insightful, and then held Dialogue in Yinchuan, the Invitational Exhibition of Printmaking Works from China and United States of America last year. It’s like to dig a “canal” in the “dry field” with the printmaking as the first shovel. This time, The Group Exhibition of Printmaking Works from China and The United Kingdom will keep digging. And I believe the art as water will moisten Ningxia and worm our printmakers’ heart.
中国国家画院版画院非常高兴地与这里的政府和版画家合作，支持以版画助发展，积极地请进来、走出去，从了解世界的版画艺术开始，打开一扇交流的大门，一并吸引全中国的版画家的关注、参与和分享世界性的艺术经验。
