Alicia Candiani

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina -where she lives and works- Alicia Candiani is
an international visual artist and independent curator. She is the Founding
Director of Proyecto’ace, an art space focused on expanded field contemporary
print practices with focus in print media, traditional and digital printmaking,
photography and design. Currently she also serves as Deputy Dean in the IPIInternational Printmaking Institute, Central Academy of Arts in Beijing, China; in
the Open Portfolio Consulting Committee, held by FIG Bilbao International
Festival of Print and Art on Paper, in Bilbao, Spain; in Aphoteke Art Magazine
Scientific Committee, University of Santa Catarina in Brazil as well as is part of
the International Exchange Alumni Association at the American Bureau of
Educative and Cultural Affairs, USA. Her works has been exhibited
internationally and is recipient of numerous awards, being the Semi-Grand Prize
at the Hida-Takayama International Contemporary Woodcut Triennial the last of
them in 2020.

 

PROYECTO´ACE is a visual arts center founded by Alicia Candiani in 2005,
located in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It acts as both, a platform for
production and reflection on contemporary artistic practices and a link between
the invited artists and the City of Buenos Aires´ rich cultural community. The
´acePIRAR Artist-in-Residence International Program host production, research
and urban-community intervention residencies, fostering interrelationships with
other artists and contexts, promoting exchange, discussion, experimentation
and collaborative work. The AIR program focuses on proposals that question
the singular art object and experiment with the multiple in printmaking,
photography, new digital media and / or design, investigating their interferences
and expanding their limits.
