Kong Guoqiao
1968   Born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China.
1986   Upon passing his entrance exam, Kong Guoqiao is accepted into Zhejiang Art Academy. (present day China Academy of Art).
1993   After receiving his master’s degree, Kong Guoqiao accepted a position to teach at CAA.
1997-1998   Studied as a visiting scholar in the University of Ulster, UK.
2005-2009   Became head of the CAA Printmaking Department Laboratory.
2007   Graduated from CAA’s first doctoral “Practical and Theoretical Research Course”, in which. he received his doctorate degree.
2009-2010   Served as the CAA Printmaking Department’s assistant director.
2010-2015   Serving as the CAA Printmaking Department’s head director.

Kong Guoqiao’s current positions
Professor at the China Academy of Art, academic advisor for students seeking doctorate degrees, vice president of the School of Painting and the director of the Institute of Contemporary Printmaking of the CAA.
Also the Chairman of the Zhejiang Printmakers’ Association, a committee member of the Printmaking Art Committee of the China Artists’ Association, the vice president of the International Printmaking Institute of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), the vice president of International Academic Printmaking Alliance, etc.

He won the Bronze Prizes at the 10th National Exhibition of Fine Arts (2004), the Silver Prizes at the 13th (1996) and 14th (1998) National Printmaking Exhibition, etc. In 1999 he was awarded the Lu Xun Printmaking Prize by the Chinese Artists’ Association and the Chinese Printmakers’ Association. His works have been collected by the National Museum of China, the National Art Museum of China, the British Museum, the Shanghai Art Museum, etc.
